Family of 4

I am very honored to say that one of my good friends asked me to take her family portraits. You may recognize her because she was gracious enough to allow me to practice on her for maternity, newborn, and boudoir. What a great friend!

She picked a perfect day for pictures. It was cloudy with a bit of sun peeking out, the weather was brisk but still manageable without a jacket. The leaves were changing colors and not yet on the ground. We seriously could not have asked for a better day.

We enjoyed our time in the arboretum. Much of which was spent with me saying "Look at me, sweetie." Hehee. It all turned out and I'm very pleased with the results. Although, I hate the way blogspot tones every thing down. And blue. Blah. It's much more vibrant than what is shown here.

Anyway, thanks again Lorie for your trust in me. I hope you love the pictures.

Today was the Mills Family reunion. So I thought it fitting to put up some pictures of family. This is Scott's sister, Angie and her family.

And this is my family. As you can see, I'm missing one rugrat. He is completely and utterly against having his picture taken for any reason. Hence, he is not in the picture.

Although, I snagged a few of them when he wasn't attention. He's not smiling and he's often being rotten, but they're still of him so I love them. Here he is chewing on his shirt. Don't ask me why he does that cuz I don't know. Teething?

The birthday outing

Today is my father-in-law's birthday. I'm not even sure how old he turned, but I know it's older than me! LOL We met this evening and went to eat at Outback Steakhouse. I tried to get some pictures of the family there but the lighting was low. To be honest, I could have fiddled but I didn't feel like missing out on hot food while the kids were being good. I did get a picture of my niece, Makayla and my sister-in-law, Angie as they were walking out the door. I tried to get the little ones but they were just too active and Kirsten kept giving me silly faces. No pictures of the birthday boy either. He avoids the camera. I managed to capture my mother-in-law doing what she always does.....blinding everyone with her P&S.

Travis

My brother, Travis, came to visit for a bit. I twisted his arm and made him sit in my new chair. I was so excited to play with my new toys. Let me tell you, it's definitely harder than it looks and I really need to read/play with it a lot more! I'm glad he was willing. Here's my FIRST attempt at OCF with my AB400, softbox, and reflector....of which, btw, I have to use my on-camera flash to trigger without the use of a light meter, so please be kind. :)
