Me and my babies
It's rare that I'm in a picture with my kids because I'm always the one behind the camera. I decided it was time to change that or I'd never have a picture of me with my babies. Here we are playing. I love playing with my babies. :)

The zoo
We went to the zoo today and wow, what an adventure. It was so stinkin' hot! I thought for sure my shoes were going to melt into the pavement. Ugh!
At the petting area of the zoo. He could have cared less about the goats.
Colton was not really impressed with the large animals behind glass or in the "pens", although he was fascinated with the penguins.

And the fish. Oh my goodness, did he love the fish. He would have played in the aquarium for hours. He kept running up and down the viewing aisle saying "Shark! Shark!" Word World comes in handy, I guess. :)
He also found Dori from Finding Nemo. He was very excited about that discovery! We had a little meltdown when it was time to leave. Poor thing! I guess we'll have to make a special trip to the Newport Aquarium before summer is over.

I comforted him while we waited for everyone else to ride again. I think it was nap time.
Yes, the girls came along and they were bored!!! They fought for sippy cups, wubanubs, food, etc. It was so hot, even their little dresses didn't keep them cool. Through it all, they were troopers, though.

All in all, it was good day. Just exhausting.

They had a merry-go-round which the kids wanted to ride so we took a break. Colton has been on a merry-go-round before so of course, I thought nothing of it. I stood beside him when it started and he was nothing but smiles. For like a minute.

Then it was nothing but heartbreak. :(

Mommy in action
Yep, he got me. Smartie pants. I thought he was practicing on the girls and when I downloaded his camera, I was quite surprised to find this. Interesting. So that's what I look like when I'm taking pictures. No wonder no one ever wants to smile at me. LOLActually, sweetie.....I'm quite jealous of the fantastic bokeh you got goin' on. You're definitely one up on me there.

It's my party
...and I'll cry if I want to. Oddly enough, this song was in my head when I woke up this morning. My friend, Lorie, mentioned the song as a title to today's blog entry as soon as Keira started crying. I found it fitting and decided to use it.

We had a big bash for the girls' first birthday party. Tons of friends and family. What a blast! I don't have any pictures of the girls by themselves in their birthday outfits (whodathunk I'd forget that?) But I do have one of them playing with cars and one of them begging for cheese.
I had their onesies custom made with the Eiffel Tower on them. Their names were on the back so people didn't have to ask who they were holding. Smart mommy, huh? :) I made their tutus to match and I also had ballerina shoes made, but they didn't stay on long. I shoulda thought that one through. I topped off the outfits with tiaras. Too stinkin' cute!

My friend, Holly, is also blessed with a July 11th birthday. What a great day to be born!! Here's a picture of all the July 11th princesses. Tiaras included. :)

The cake. The bakers messed up the cake. I even drew them a picture. I didn't throw a fit, I had too many other things going on. And yes, the bakery spelled Keira's name wrong. Dorks.

Before the cake, ready to dig in.

Mommy and her birthday girls!

They know how to eat cake!! This is Keira....quite content from cake overload.

And Carly. Grinning wide enough to show all her teeth!
We had a great day and I'd like to thank all of our friends and family that came to share in the celebration. Thanks for everything!!!

Got my hair did
You might be wondering how does a mother of three little ones that are 2 years old and younger stay so stylish and fashionable? Yeah, you and me both. Something tells me that yoga pants, t-shirts, and ponytails do not equal diva. My hair had grown so much since the girls were born thanks to prenatal vitamins. I dyed it auburn during the winter and ugh! It showed all the gray hair I never knew I had! GASP!! I swear they weren't there last year. So, now that the warm weather is upon us, it was time for a change. One closer to my natural hair color. One that would be easy for me to keep up. One that would still make me look like the hot momma that I am (hahahaa). Go on and laugh, you know it's funny.
Here's after: short, blonde hooker highlights, layered, and no gray to the naked eye

Here's before: Long, red, and sprinkled with gray.

Mommy and me (x2)

Sadly, this is my first picture with the girls since they were in the NICU. Mostly because I'm the one behind the camera, but also because I was having a hard time losing my baby weight. I was diagnosed with postpartum depression when the girls were 2 months old and was on an anti-depressant for 4 months. It made me gain weight terribly. I felt better, but the weight gain was kinda counterproductive. Being fat does not equate to being jolly. Maybe Santa can pull that off, but I can't. So, in the last 5 weeks, I've managed to get down to my pre-pregnancy weight....the girls', not Colton's. Hehee. Got a long way to go to get THAT body back. :)
